Why does a business need a Health and Safety Audit?
A Health and Safety Audit is used to establish if a business’ premises are compliant with the requirements of South Africa’s Occupational Health and Safety Act, and that it is a safe working environment.
A Health and Safety Compliance Certificate is issued after a workplace has been subjected to a Health and Safety Audit and either met the requirements thereof, or rectified any concerns identified in the process.
Failure to comply with the Occupational Health and Safety Act could lead to severe penalties and even imprisonment.
